POLICE have launched an investigation after two people were arrested close to a prison fence.
Officers were on patrol near the perimeter of HMP Wymott near Leyland at shortly before midnight Sunday, May 10th when they spotted a parked Toyota CHR. As the officers approached two people ran off from the car and were arrested a short time later.
A woman aged 44 from Nottinghamshire was arrested on suspicion of Possession of a Class B Drug with intent to supply and a 16-year-old boy from Staffordshire was arrested on suspicion of Possession of a Class B Drug with intent to supply and car theft. Both remain in custody.
Police have recovered from the Toyota a quantity of drugs, suspected to be cannabis, a number of mobile phones and a drone.
Enquiries are on-going.
