A group who run a club for disabled children at a Blackpool community centre have been left devastated after it was broken in to.

Activity Leisure Solutions, who provide a holiday club for children with additional needs, use Gatehouse Community Centre on Waterloo Road. But when staff walked in this morning (2.12.16), they found most toys and electricals had been taken - including the vacuum!

Sharon who is a carer for the club said:

"They've taken a lot of electrical stuff and have broken a lot of toys from what we can see. Until police are finished taking fingerprints, we can’t get in to get a full list of what has been stolen or broken.

"We might not even be able to open next week for these children that rely on the service because there is no equipment left for them to play with.

"We are insured, but it's about the time it takes for the insurance company to replace it."

Police have confirmed that Gatehouse Church, which is next door to the centre, was also targeted. A laptop and small amount of cash were stolen.
