Police are appealing for information after a stolen golf buggy was found burnt out in Grange Park on Thursday afternoon (17 August).

It was located just off Dingle Avenue by a police officer at around 1pm and is believed to have been stolen overnight from the Stanley Park Golf Course. This is the third golf buggy stolen in recent months from the same course. One was recovered and another is still outstanding.

PC Matt Greer from Blackpool Police said: “These buggies are not built to be driven on the road which is where the thieves must have taken the one we recovered to get it to where it was found. They could be dangerous and cause lots of damage in the wrong hands.

“I would urge who knows anything about this or the previous incident to come forward and speak to us.”

Also located during the search was a burnt out mobility scooter along with remnants of a second one.

PC Greer continued: “These are often a lifeline for people to help them get out and about when they are unable to walk, they must belong to someone. I would ask anyone who has had their mobility scoter stolen or might have any information about them being taken to get in touch.”

Anyone with information is asked to call PC Matt Greer on 07813 347399 or if they fail to get an answer, 101, quoting incident reference 577 of August 16th.
