Fire crews were called to a flat blaze on Peter Street in Blackpool after a neighbour raised the alarm.

The fire broke out this morning (25.8.16) at around 12:45am.

Occupants of the ground floor and first floor flat were alerted by smoke alarms to a rapidly developing fire in the ground floor hallway which is the entrance to both flats.

The occupants of the ground floor flat (an adult male and female) attempted to put the fire out. The male was treated for burns to his feet and the female was treated for smoke inhalation by Fire Service Personnel.

An adult female and a baby who occupied the flat on the first floor self-evacuated from the premises before the arrival of the Fire Service.

The fire is of suspicious origin and is under investigation.
