Dean Lyness is set for a spell on the sidelines after sustaining ankle ligament damage against Cambridge United.
The goalkeeper, who has started in Blackpool's last five matches, was forced off in the 71st minute last weekend after making a save.
"He's obviously got his opportunity and we felt he'd done well in the games that he'd played. It's a bit of a blow but we've got to get over that now," manager Gary Bowyer said.
"We're fortunate that Sam Slocombe's trained this week, so touch wood he comes through the remaining sessions.
"I also thought Myles (Boney) did ever so well when he went on and it's good competition. I'm delighted we've got the back-up in Myles."
Another injury that is now proving to be more long-term than first feared is Danny Pugh's, with the captain still recovering from bone bruising.
"It's a bit of a frustrating one at the moment, he's had another scan this week and we're just waiting on the report from that. It's just starting to irritate Danny for the length of time he's been out now."
