The family of a 78-year-old local man who died following a collision have paid tribute to him.



Brian Carroll died at the scene of the incident after colliding with another vehicle on the A583 near to the Ribby Hall roundabout yesterday (20.6.16)

The driver of the other car, a 75 year old man, was taken to Royal Preston Hospital where he was treated for minor injuries.

Mr Carroll's family have released this statement to police:

"The family of Brian Carroll would like to express their grief at the loss of a loving father and grandfather who died in a road traffic collision on Blackpool Road, Kirkham yesterday . Brian was well known locally as he was the previous landlord of both 'The Top House' in Kirkham and 'The Highgate' in Newton. He will be sorely missed by all who knew him and Brian's family would like to pass on their thanks to friends and neighbours for their support at this difficult time."
