Police are getting concerned for the welfare of a missing elderly man from Blackpool.

Leslie Atkinson, known as ‘Les’, 89, was last seen at his home address on Bright Street in the town last night (Monday 19 July) at around 11pm.

His family and friend haven’t heard from him since.

T/Sgt Nat Cox from Blackpool Police said: “We are especially worried for Mr Atkinson given his age and vulnerability. On top of that he isn’t dressed for the especially warm conditions and is in receipt of regular medication which he needs but we don’t believe he has in his possession. He may also appear to be confused.

“If you have seen him or know where he is, please get in contact with us immediately.”

Mr Atkinson is described as white, medium build, is bald apart from a tuft of white hair at the back with a white moustache. He is believed to be wearing a beige flat cap, black shoes, blue jeans and either a blue tracksuit top with white stripes down the sleeves or lightweight black Nylon jacket.

He has links to the Leeds area and speaks with a Yorkshire accent.
