The leader of Blackpool Council has defended the cost of the proposed tramway extension.
Plans being discussed could see a development from North Pier to Blackpool North railway station.
It's estimated it'll cost £24 million, with the bulk of the cash coming from grant funding.
Opposition leader, Conservative Councillor, Tony Williams, has slammed the possible spend as a waste of local taxpayers money.
But Simon Blackburn says it's an investment which will benefit the resort for generations to come
