Blackpool Football Club have denied that they've been subject to an official ten million pound takeover bid.

A national newspaper has reported a third-party on behalf of a potential investor is understood to have lodged the bid, to include the purchase of Bloomfield Road but not the club’s training ground and other profitable assets.

In an official statement the club say no such approach has been received.

The Seasiders told us: ''Blackpool Football Club would like to make clear that no offer has been received to takeover the club, despite a report on the Daily Mail's website.

''The owners of the club, who held their most recent board meeting on 4 July, with Kaspars Varpins in attendance on behalf of Valeri Belokon, have received no approach whatsoever, from any investor or third party.

''This isn't the first instance of erroneous reporting by the Daily Mail, with the club not being offered the courtesy to comment on the story prior to its publication.''
