Detectives are appealing for information after a man was stabbed during an unprovoked assault in Blackpool.

Police were called by the Ambulance Service around 11.35pm on Thursday May 3 following reports a 48-year-old man had been found with a stab wound in Bond Street.






Officers attended the scene and found the victim with an injury to his upper arm.

Sometime between 11pm and 11.30pm, the man had been walking on Bond Street, between the junctions of Rawcliffe Street and Dean Street, when he was approached by another man.

In an unprovoked attack, the man stabbed the victim in the arm, before making off from the scene.

The victim was later taken to Blackpool Victoria Hospital for treatment.

The offender is described as a white, aged in his early 20s, 5ft 9in tall, of slim build, wearing blue jeans and a black baseball cap.

Detectives are appealing for information following the attack.

Det Con Hannah Ogilvie, of Blackpool CID, said: “We are seeking witnesses in relation to a stabbing in Blackpool.

“The incident occurred on Bond Street, somewhere between the junctions of Rawcliffe Street and Dean Street.

“The offender has approached the victim and in a completely unprovoked attack stabbed him to the upper arm. Thankfully he did not sustain severe injuries. The victim managed to flee and seek help while the offender made off from the scene.
